The Independence Gun

A 1 of 12 Tribute to America’s 250th Birthday Forged in honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, The Independence Gun is not merely a firearm—it is a historical artifact reborn. This ultra-limited collection of only twelve pistols exists to commemorate the moment a nation chose sovereignty over submission, resolve over comfort, and freedom over fear. Every element of this pistol carries American history in its rawest form. Steel that once served the United States military across World War II, Korea, and Vietnam has been reclaimed, reforged, and elevated into a modern heirloom worthy of the occasion. Nothing about this project is symbolic by accident. Every choice was intentional.

The Slide American Flag Damascus

The slide is forged from Damascus steel made exclusively from original U.S. military M1 Garand barrels spanning World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. These barrels were carefully selected, sectioned, and forge-welded into a bespoke Damascus billet. The forging process was intentionally engineered so the final pattern evokes the American flag, with flowing striations that echo movement, contrast, and unity—many steels, one purpose. No two slides are identical. Each bears its own interpretation of the flag, ensuring every pistol is singular while remaining unmistakably part of the Independence collection.

The Grips
Forged, Not Decorated

The grips are machined from the same M1 Garand Damascus steel as the slide, making this pistol one of the rarest configurations ever produced—steel grips forged from historic military rifles. The pattern alignment between slide and grips creates visual continuity, giving the pistol a cohesive, monolithic presence. These are not decorative panels—they are structural, weighty, and unapologetically American.

The Knife
A Matched Companion

Each Independence Gun is paired with a matching fixed-blade knife, forged from the same M1 Garand Damascus steel by legendary bladesmith, and Forged In Fire Champion, Ricardo Vilar. The blade carries the same historic patterning, making it a true companion piece rather than an accessory. The handle is crafted from original M1 Garand wood stock, preserving the warmth and character of the rifle that once bore it. Steel and wood—reborn together. This knife exists solely for this collection and will never be produced independently.

The Case WWII Ammo
Crate Presentation

×
The entire set is housed in a WWII-style wooden ammo crate, purpose built for this project. The Crate is both protective and symbolic, mirroring the containers that once transported the very rifles whose steel now lives on in this set. Inside, the pistol and knife are precisely fitted, turning the crate into a presentation case that feels less like packaging and more like a recovered artifact.
